Non Skid UV Coatings
Offer Advantages Over Solvent and
Water Based Products
Craig has announced the availability of its
new non-skid, high gloss, UV coating for multi-wall
and paper bags. The new coating, Craigcoat
1077NSA, offers considerable advantages over
water and solvent based coatings, including greatly
enhanced performance at no added cost. Used to
control face to face skid problems common among
bags containing pet foods, charcoal, and fertilizer,
the product has a zero VOC, provides higher block,
abrasion, and chemical resistance, cures fast and
odorless, and is supplied at roller or blanket viscosity
of 100 cps (Brookfield, 20 rpm, #4 spindle, @ 77°F).
The coating will maintain the specified slide angle, adjustable from 30 to 60 degrees,
over long periods of time for stacking bagged products while providing little or no
drag on equipment surfaces.
Several variants of the 1077NSA formula are available for an
assortment of
ink types, curing equipment, and application styles. Contact your representative
for additional details.
1077NSA has nearly twice the gloss
of solvent based coatings, up to 8 times
the MEK rub resistance, six times the Tabers, and 50 times the Sutherland Rubs!
It can be applied via roller and
gravure coaters, as well as wide web flexo
presses. Several variations are also available with different curing parameters
and ink compatibility.
