Ski-Doo wanted a direct mail piece that showed
existing customers how the old snowmobile had
changed.  Their innovative approach:  a picture of
an old Ski-Doo with paste-ons that showed the
improvements part by part.  When you were
done covering up the photo, you had a completely
new product.  Craig made it work with an aqueous,
repositionable glue and silicone release coating that
let readers play to their hearts content.

Craig has an innovative new product, Craigcoat 1045A.  Unique, this UV curable
silicone release coating can be applied by many methods including flexo and roll coat.
Created primarily for the Narrow and Medium Web Industries, the material is compatible
with the most aggressive pressure sensitive adhesives yet its easy application, smooth
surface, and fast cure allows its use in standard flexo equipment capable of UV curing.
Users will experience less startup waste, a viscosity of 300 cps (Brookfield, 20 rpm, #4
spindle, 77°F) and exceptional machining characteristics with no foaming

This technology offers several distinct advantages over thermally cured silicone
release coatings, including:

Additionally, the product is available in several versions that tailor the release
properties to your specification whether they are premium, medium, or medium low.
Consult with your Craig Adhesives Technical Representative for the exact product
requirements.

To compliment the new coating, a water based pressure sensitive adhesive called
Craigbond 3255X may be substituted  for the traditional hot melt adhesive normally
used in this format.  The combined system can be wet or dry laminated and offers very
aggressive peel and tack, as well as permanent bonds.  3255X is well suited for labels,
decals, and tapes.  The clear, colorless appearance of the dried adhesive film makes it
perfect for applications with clear films and foils to paperboard, cellulose laminates,
polyethylene, enamel, aluminum, ABS plastic, and polystyrene.  It will also adhere to
glass with superior flexibility, and is resistant to water and degradation by UV, oxygen,
and ozone.  Packaged viscosity is 100 cps (Brookfield, 20 rpm, #4 spindle, and 77°F).
